Wine Making Programmes

The Vineyard Academy has over the years implemented multiple training programmes for one of its major clients, The South African Wine Industry Trust. The below skills program in the Winemaking NQF Level 3 were delivered to approximately 500 learners in the Western Cape.

Winemaking – NQF 3 Food & Bev Seta Some key modules include:

  • Receive raw material for winemaking; clarify wine by means of a physical or physical-chemical process
  • Ferment grape juice for winemaking
  • Maintain wooden barrels for winemaking or spirits production
  • Evaluate the sensory quality of wine products
  • Filter by means of an automated or semi-automated process
  • Perform wine or spirits wood maturation
  • Perform wine stabilisation procedures
  • Perform wine transfer and blending
